An integrative approach to clinical counselling draws from a range of evidence-informed approaches to meet your unique needs and experiences. Rooted in a humanistic philosophy, my approach views each person as inherently whole and capable of growth. Together, we explore the relationship between the mind, body, emotions, and inner world, recognizing that lasting healing often emerges through greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and connection. By working with thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and unconscious patterns, counselling supports a deeper understanding of yourself and creates opportunities for meaningful and lasting change.

What is somatic therapy?

Somatic therapy is a body-centred and trauma-informed approach to counselling that cultivates awareness of physical sensations to process emotions, release stored stress and trauma, and restore mind-body balance. Research in neuroscience and psychology support the effectiveness of somatic therapy in treating trauma, stress, anxiety, and PTSD.

How many sessions will I need?

We will check in during the first session to discuss a treatment plan that supports your unique needs. My general recommendation is to attend weekly or bi-weekly sessions for the first 10 sessions. Many clients experience meaningful changes within these initial sessions. Afterwards, you may continue at the same pace, choose to attend monthly, or book occasional follow up sessions. Advance booking of appointments is available if you wish to reserve a preferred day and time.

How much does a session cost?

55 minute individual sessions are $130 CAD.

Does extended health insurance cover my sessions?

Accepted Answer

Most extended health insurance plans cover mental health and registered clinical counselling services. My designation is MPCC-P (Registered Master Practitioner Clinical Counsellor -Provisional). Please check your insurance for "registered counselling" coverage before your sessions and submit your invoices to your extended health care plan for reimbursement. I do not offer direct billing to insurance companies. Please note that British Columbia’s provincial health care plan (MSP) does not cover the cost of counselling..

What is your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Please allow 24 hours to cancel or reschedule your appointment time. If you cancel within 24 hours you will be charged the full amount of your session.
